Dont Sleep on________.....

Hello Again,

So I just wanted to do a quick post on somethin that I think a lot of people do...

As an inspiring makeup artist, I have learned that the cost of the makeup does not determine the quality of the makeup! Some of the best makeup that I have bought, has been from E.l.f. or Wet N' Wild and recently NYC.

In my opinion, the application of the makeup is more important than the makeup itself! I say all of this to get to the main point of the post....

Yesterday I went to the Dollar Tree with my moms-in-law to pick up some random things for her house. Being the frugalista that I am, it brought me great joy to be in the Dollar Tree and more joy to see that they had E.l.f products there. I had heard that they sold E.l.f at Dollar Tree, but its usually at select stores, so you can only imagine how happy I was to buy. Because I had most of the products that they were had, I decided to buy a blush that was from the Studio line and test it out.

I bought the blush from E.l.f and a black liquid liner and pretty forest green eyeshadow from the
LA Colors brand.

I wanted to buy these products to review them for you to make a specific point...I want to let you know...
You never know what you may find and how that product may work for you....

Sorry I was a bit long winded, but I just wanted to let you know to look for reviews on these products!!!

Humpday Flowwww

Happy Humpday Loves...

So amidst all of the crazy weather in D.C. this past week, today was a beautiful day and wanted to fill beautiful and bright with what I chose to wear.

As you all know, I absolutely LOVVVEE and am blatantly OBSESSED with thrifting. The last time that I went, I was able to buy two dresses, floral culottes and a blazer for about $12 dollars! Yes, 12 DOLLARS! lol

I am so excited about this dress because of the thin polyester material (perfect for a summer dress) and it had pleats, one of my new obsessions!

This is one of my favorite thrifted dresses this summer and it is a perfect example of how to make something you buy at a thrift store "your own". Originally, this dress was 2 sizes to big, but a simple belt (also thrifted) around the waist really made the dress come to life for me! It allowed me to show off my curves in the midst of such a wonderful airy and flowy dress.

I hope you liked the outfit as much as I did today...

Accessories :: Bracelets - Gifted and Forever21

Black Watch - Target 12.99!

As a person observing Ramadan, I was inspired by the fast by doing a makeup look that I called Sunrise..Sunset.

Because Burnt Orange is one of my favorite color, I wanted to incorporate it into the look. I love bright and bold eyeshadows and what better season to do this in but summer!

Wellness tip of the Week!!/DIY ♡ EFFECTIVE Acne & Blackhead Treatment

Hello Loves...

Happy Saturday, I hope you all had a beautiful week:)

So I'm guilty!! Guilty of not consistently providing you with the info I said I would when I started this blog.
I believe the last time I posted a "Wellness tip of the Week" was in May or June.
Despicable I tell ya...
Because wellness and wholistic approaches to life are important to me, this is a unique part of my life I want to share in the blogosphere.

Because I am a DIY'er, I love finding ways to take ordinary things and doing them yourself, with things that you already have at home, in your cabinets, etc.

Check out this vid from Andrea from Andrea'sChoice on how to use sea salt to cure some of the problems we may have with acne. Very economical and using one of earths most natural substances--SALT!!

Let me know how it works for you..I will definitely be tryin soon:)

In Wellness,

p.s. I'll be making my own videos soon!!

DIY--Maxi Skirt!

Do It Yourself!!

That seems to be my theme lately..
If its to big, put a belt around it..If I lose an earring to a set, make a a have to figure out ways to make whats in your closet work for you, instead of going out to buy it all the time.

This summer, the trend has been on maxi skirts, they are perfect for casual outfits, dressing up, and for that really feminine look! They are also a great way to accent your figure, esp your waist.

Check out how I turned lovely dress into a Maxi Skirt..
Start with your most simple tube, spaghetti or halter dress.

Cut off the part of the dress that has elastic in it, the part that holds up the dress.

Then tuck in the access fabric like so...

Voila...there you have it!
What do you think? Did I do a good job, lol?
Try it for your selves, and lemme know how it goes!

Business Casual--MY WAY!!

Evenin Lovelies!

So i wanted to do a post on an idea that I had...

Being a young professional, I hear the term "Business Casual" a lot! I hear it, and most of the time people DON'T know what it means to dress in a business casual way.

So I decided that I would put my own spin on the concept with a Leather briefcase that I found at my favorite spot--The Thrift store!! I think its really important to mix and match different trends, patterns, colors and most importantly themes of dress.

Let me know what you think.....

Hello All--And a Happy Saturday to u...

So at the Fashionable Atlanta Blogger Meetup, we were given these fabulous goodie bags, and in the bag was a coupon from SoleSociety for a FREE pair of shoes..yesss I said it, A FREE PAIR OF SHOES!
Sole Society is a website that allows us to get shoes based on our style profile, and might I add that my style profile based on the style survey was right on point, it described me to a T!!

When it comes to style, it's all about being a free spirit...
You have a way of adding a flash of boho to every look, whether you're lounging around the house or getting glammed up for a fancy evening affair. Lush fabrics and romantic accessories are key pieces for you. You're stylish but comfortable, laid-back but hip. Maxi dresses, flip-flops, soft tees and cozy sweaters are must-haves in your closet.

ME RIGHT!! ???

Well I picked my free pair for August and I am ecstatic to receive them. The shoes are of designer quality and very reasonably priced. Cant wait to see what September offers. I plan to be apart of SoleSociety after I get my free pair...

Check out my beautiful pair, I can just see this nude tone on my feet already!!

Until Next Time...
